Ranking All Named Female Characters from Blue Lock by Popularity

Blue Lock is an anime that is primarily packed with male characters and its story is about 300 strikers competing to become the number one striker, Blue Lock isn’t completely unusual. Yet the series also features a couple of notable female characters that get a few more lines, but certainly not enough to make a player out of them, and they certainly stuck with fans. Here, we rank all named female characters in Blue Lock based on their popularity.

4) Junko Hiori

Appearance:

Junko has cyan hair and cyan eyes and is relatively athletic, thanks to her background as a professional high jumper.

Personality:

While her personality has never been explored, we know of her bitterness about being Japan’s second-best high jumper. Their ambition is so high that she projects it onto her son, Yo Hiori, urging him to achieve first place in football alongside her husband, Ginji.

Quote (in unison with Ginji Hiori): “If You can’t become number 1 in the world, then I want a divorce.”

  • Name Meaning: “Junko” (順子) translates to “obedient child,” and “Hiori” (氷織) means “ice weaving.”
  • Role in Blue Lock: Junko is Yo Hiori’s mother and Ginji Hiori’s wife. It has damaged Yo’s purpose in and ego about football – he was always pressured relentlessly by her to do the best under her thinking she wasn’t letting him win intentionally to please Ginji. This detachment comes in when they stick to Yo’s injured leg after falling down the stairs.

3) Iyo Isagi

In the anime, Yoichi Isagi’s mother is Iyo Isagi. Her son’s football dreams are known to have been encouraged by her kindness and support despite the fact she’s not in the club for it deep.

  • Supportive Nature: Yoichi brought her to his match against the U-20 Japanese national team, and she told him he could count on his parents to support him no matter if he won or lost.
  • Name Meaning: “Iyo” (伊世) can be interpreted as “that one world,” and her surname “Isagi” (潔) translates to “undefiled, pure, clean.” Phonetically, “Isagi” can also mean “sportsmanlike, brave.”

2) Yu Bachira

Yu Bachira

Yu Bachira is the mother of Meguru Bachira, another prominent character in Blue Lock. Her popularity surpasses that of Iyo Isagi due to her more significant role in Meguru’s backstory.

Personality: Yu Bachira (who is of middle age, and a kindly painter) is known for her supportive nature. She is sociable and encourages her son, showing understanding by validating his vision of an imaginary “monster” as his friend who inspires him to play football.

  • Name Meaning: “Yu” (優) can signify “tenderness, superiority, gentleness,” and “Bachira” (蜂楽) means “happy bee,” thus her name can imply “a gentle, happy bee.”

1) Anri Teieri

Anri Teieri is the most popular female character in Blue Lock, admired for both her appearance and her significant role in the story. Anri works for the Japan Football Union (JFU) and proposed a groundbreaking plan to help Japan win the World Cup.

Appearance:

Anri Teieri

Anri is a brown-haired woman with a smallish build, neck-length brown hair in two braids and square bangs, and chocolate-brown eyes. Usually, she wears a formal secretary-like outfit however she sometimes wears more revealing outfits in promotional art.

She is a calm, determined person and very passionate about football, I think her vision for Japan is very clear. Anri, however, remains unshaken by ridicule from the JFU board members, who mocked her for her ambitions and appearance, not once afraid to unleash her ideas amongst the professionals.
